Volunteer Site: Lena Park Community Development Center, Dorchester

Project: Replacing a chain link fence, painting a mural, pruning trees, clearing out trash

Highlights: This was the biggest team to date, weighing in at a solid 14 members of solid Boom. We accomplished so much in only one day of service, with all the enthusiasm that people have come to expect from Boom-Boom. Chilly rain had no effect on the positive energy surrounding our team, and the added challenges of wet paint and cold hands only made the finished product that much more rewarding. A warm dinner after the event gave us time to reflect on our success, down a few beers, and enjoy the good company of friends both new and old.

David's Tetris mural design attracted other teams and local children who were all eager to participate in its creation. Despite a little runny paint from the rain, the finished work looks phenomenal.
